92.7 BIG FM, in association with MTS, has announced the launch of MTS BIG Studio, the first ever unplugged radio festival on Kolkata's FM airwaves, featuring 15 of the leading singers of popular Bangla Music.
Accompanied only by acoustic instruments and free of electric/digital effects, the sound emanating from BIG Studio will be a rarely heard refreshing version of these star performers, as well as close up interactions and straight from the heart talk.
Hosted by the RJ Duet of Arpan and Mahua, the show will go on air everyday at 6 pm from May 7, 2012 onwards and feature Manomay Bhattacharyya, Somlata Acharya Chowdhury, Kartik Das Baul, Anwesha Datta Gupta, Rupankar Bagchi, Raghab Chatterjee, Silajit Majumdar, Anindya Chatterjee (Chandrabindoo), Soumitra Ray ( Bhoomi ), Swapan Basu, Joy Sarkar, Siddhartha (Cactus), Srikanta Acharya, Anupam Roy and Rupam Islam.
In keeping with 92.7 BIG FM's promise of Moner Gaan Praner Sur, MTS BIG Studio will offer listeners the widest melody bouquet of Bengali music, across genres from Adhunik to Bangla rock, and Rabindrasangeet to folk. Interestingly, apart from singing their own songs unplugged, the artistes of BIG Studio have also shared the stories behind their biggest hits and even sang songs of other legendary artistes who have influenced their musical journey most.

To promote MTS BIG Studio and make it even more accessible to a wider audience base, apart from the radio broadcast on 92.7 BIG FM, the full audio visual episodes of MTS BIG Studio will also be available on popular social media sites, including Facebook and You Tube the day after radio broadcast.
An added attraction will be MTS BIG Studio on Wheels, a mobile studio which will hit the roads to scout for a talented performer in the various paras of the city. A wild card entrant selected from the para activity will get a lifetime opportunity to perform on the show. All MTS customers will receive venue and time details of these para activities and will stand a chance to get a preferential entry into the auditions by simply showing the SMS.
As a fitting flag off to MTS BIG Studio, cult icon Rupam Islam and musical sensation Anupom Roy came together at the launch meet held at Musicworld, Park Street, mesmerising the audience with their experience on the show as well as a rare jamming session between these two stars of Bangla Music.
