Amrita TV as the trendsetting Malayalam TV channel, is undertaking a mission to create a phenomenal proportion of Gulf-based content for its middle east audiences.

In 2011, Amrita TV was the only Indian Channel to telecast a gulf-based 50-episode reality show on Christian Choir Songs produced in UAE. This unique show, Deva Geetham-Middle East, evoked deep appreciation of clients, viewers and opinion leaders.

The year 2012 will be a landmark year for Amrita TV in the middle east by way of broadcasting content entirely shot in the gulf ,with all participants hailing from the GCC. From 24th May,2012 Amrita TV will start telecast of two gulf-centric reality shows, thus emerging as the only Indian TV channel in the middle east to produce two Shows running for around 8 months spanning a total of 175 episodes . These two talent hunts are Kasavu Thattam and Deva Geetham-Middle East, Season -2

Kasavu Thattam is a 100-episode reality show on Mappillapattu or Malayalam Muslim music, which will showcase conventional folklore Muslim songs originating from the Malabar area of Kerala. This show will start from 24th May, and telecast thrice a week,Thursday to Saturday at 11 pm.After a rigorous auditions contest held in Dubai which was attended by nearly 125 participants, Amrita TV shortlisted 20 contestants to participate in this reality show. The jury for the show comprises V.M Kutty, writer,composer,singer and an authority on Mappillapattu; V.T. Murali noted musician and exponent of Malabar songs; and Cybella, noted Mappillapattu singer

Deva Geetham-Middle East-2, now in its second season, is a 75-episode reality show on Christian Choir songs, which will also start from 24th May, and telecast thrice a week,Thursday to Saturday at 11.30 pm. For this show, 12 Teams competed at the auditions in UAE, out of which 8 Choir Groups made it to the show, each Group consisting of nearly 15 musicians.The jury for this show comprise renowned exponents in the Christian Choir genre namely ,Father Antony Uruliannikkal,CMI, celebrated name in devotional Christian songs; and Alphonse Joseph, well-known music composer and choral singer; along with Shibu Chakravarthy, GM-Programs, Amrita TV, who is also a noted lyricist.

Both the shows will culminate in Grand Finales to be held in UAE towards the end of the year, and the winners will take home handsome prizes.
