PVR Director’s Rare banner brings another award winning and critically acclaimed Indie feature 'Pairon Talle' (SOUL OF SAND) for its movie lovers. The movie Written and Directed by award-winning filmmaker Sidharth Srinivasan under his banner Reel Illusion Films and Produced by Divya Bhardwaj, is all set for a theatrical release on 5th October, 2012 under PVR Director’s RARE banner. The film, shot entirely in the NCR (National Capital Region) of Gurgaon and Faridabad, is one of the most keenly awaited Indie films of recent times.

'Pairon Talle' stars an eclectic cast of actors and newcomers, Dibyendu Bhattacharya (DEV-D, BLACK FRIDAY etc), Saba Joshi, Avtar Sahni (OMKARA, DO DOONI CHAAR etc), Geeta Bisht (DILLI-6 etc) and others. The film has been shot by three-time National Award-winning DOP Nalla Muthu (DHARM), the sound design is by National Award-winning audiographer Nihar Ranjan Samal (3 IDIOTS, VICKY DONOR etc) and the music by German composer Joanna Stella Kompa.

'Pairon Talle' had its World Premiere at the Toronto Int’l Film Festival 2010 to great acclaim. It was selected by Artistic Director Cameron Bailey as one of his prestigious Daily Picks and he had this to say on the venture “… This is a film of extraordinarily striking aesthetics. And yet, as structured and disciplined as it is, Soul of Sand is also a sharp cry for social change… Clearly schooled in the best of world cinema… this young auteur has found a way to make films in India that feel urgent, relevant, artful and new”. The film has subsequently gone on to play over 10 festivals globally, including the Int'l Film Festival Rotterdam 2011 and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), NYC. Awarded the coveted Hubert Bals Fund of the Int’l Film Festival Rotterdam, the film has already secured multi-platform distribution with the Global Film Initiative in USA and Canada, and the HBF in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg.

'Pairon Talle' tells the story of a simple watchman, who is so devoted to protecting his master's property, that he has lost the very ability to safeguard himself. When realization of his enslavement finally dawns on him, it does so at a bloody price. Will the watchman take destiny into his own hands or will justice be denied him forever. The stark contrasts of the rapidly urbanizing NCR (National Capital Region) provide the violent backdrop to the film – this is a Delhi you’ve never been shown before.
