"What we were looking for was clarity in thought and expression, an unaffected delivery of speech, the ability to talk in simple terms and avoid clichés and a basic understanding of the game. We found that the three winners ticked all the boxes." -Jayaditya Gupta (Executive editor-India)
On 21st June the three winners will be given the exclusive honor of visiting the ESPncricinfo Studios in Bangalore and witness the science of quality cricket reporting. They will be felicitated by the Cricinfo and Hyundai team and also get to hang out with the entire editorial team the entire day. They will also get an opportunity to sub-edit a real journalistic piece on ESPNcricinfo.
On 23rd June, the winner Kartik Kanan will be coming back to the ESPNcricinfo Studios to participate in a live Google+ Hangout with the ESPNcricinfo team during the final match of the Champions Trophy. He will also be featured with his contributory writing on “The Inbox” a very popular fan blog on the site, sharing space with some of the world’s best cricket writers.
“CricJockey originated in a free-wheeling discussion with Hyundai, their media agency and ESPNcricinfo; where we discussed the need to get fans involved in the game real-time. We were looking for the most brilliant fans amongst millions of our fans - the ones who have great knowledge about the game and were able to express it the best. We were extremely excited to do a contest of this kind for our fans, and use the strength of our medium to its fullest” – Ramesh Kumar (Head ESPNcricinfo and ESPN Digital Media – India)
The entire campaign was hosted on ESPN cricinfo Web & Mobile site & promoted only on these platforms through interactive banners, content integrations and rich media innovations while also using our social media assets to optimum. Hyundai and ESPN cricinfo had engaged their FB & twitter followers with the regular updates on the contest details, timelines and outcome of the contests. Some of the other websites were also used to promote the cricjcokey contest.
“The scale and the response of this magnitude generated purely through “Only Digital” campaign-execution on ESPNcricinfo talks about our loyal and sticky audience. We are extremely pleased with the response garnered for Hyundai Cricjockey so far. Latest analytics shows more than 1 million page views across Web, Mobile and other devices, with over 10,000 participants registered through all platforms (Web, IVR and Mobile) in just 3 weeks. The social impression on the Hyundai India page for CricJockey stands at 4.5 lakhs.” – Akshaya Kolhe (Head Sales ESPNcricinfo and ESPN Digital Media – India)
