Star Plus launched its new reality show, India's Raw Star, amidst the best known faces from press and media fraternity, this August 13th at the Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai. The press conference introduced the ten contestants handpicked by none other than the multi-talented Yo Yo Honey Singh. Popular model-actress Gauahar Khan was also introduced to the media as the reality show host and she anchored the launch event while keeping the audience engaged throughout.

India's Raw Star was launched as a platform to find the ultimate performing artist who, with an original and unconventional style, can bring in a visual experience to music and go beyond singing to create a distinctive style of music, irrespective of his/her singing language or music genre. Yo Yo Honey Singh, would play mentor-friend-guide to the budding Raw Stars and conduct India's first ever 'digital only' auditions, himself.

Gaurav Banerjee – GM, Star Plus and Nikhil Madhok – SVP - Marketing, STAR Plus along with the producers and directors of the show attended the press event which had over 200 key press and media representatives in attendance. Madison IES planned and managed the event with the Star Plus team involving everything from thematic design integration at the venue, the technicals and the event flow.

Given the nature of the reality show, Hard Rock Cafe was transformed into a live concert venue adorned with larger than life 'Raw Star' necklaces and huge larger than life cutouts of the contestants and Honey Singh. The flow of the event was designed such that host Gauhar Khan emerged onstage after a huge screen, earlier used for AV content display, was released using Kabuki power-drop. It was challenging to plan unique entries for the contestants given the multi-leveled venue and every contestant was given a unique entry ranging from revelation through moving LED screens to contestants on aerial harnesses.
