RK Swamy/BBDO appoints Arindam Sengupta senior creative director

Sengupta, an engineer from Bengal Engineering College, has been in the advertising business for the last 10 years

RK Swamy/BBDO, Mumbai, has a new member in its creative team. Arindam Sengupta has joined the agency as senior creative director. He has moved from Ad Comm, Bangladesh, which is a part of the Lintas Group.

Confirming this development to agencyfaqs!, Sangeeta Shetty, executive vice-president, management and creative services, RK Swamy/BBDO, says, “Sengupta has always worked in the eastern sector – this is the first time that he will venture into the western market. However, the change of market does not matter too much. We are extremely confident about Sengupta’s strong creative sensibilities.”

Arindam Sengupta, an engineer from Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur Howrah in West Bengal, started his career as an engineer. His passion for the visual media ultimately compelled him to give up his career as an engineer and start his career in advertising with Mileage Advertising, Kolkata.

Before moving to Ad Comm, Bangladesh, Sengupta did a short stint with Trikaya Grey, Kolkata, where he served the organisation as creative supervisor.

Talking about his new role in RK Swamy/BBDO, Sengupta says, “In RK Swamy/BBDO, a lot of emphasis is placed on the arts. So, the main challenge is to develop a sharp and smart creative team, which will generate high ideas about the arts.”

He adds, “RK Swamy/BBDO is currently consolidating its business. My role will be to help the agency realign its business strategy through a unified creative approach.”
