The agency is banking on its radio spots for Red FM and on its public service campaign

As the creative team at Euro RSCG, Delhi, gets ready for Abby 2006 in Mumbai, there’s a general air of hope and excitement in the air. Ashok Karnik, vice-president, Euro RSCG, expresses the mood aptly, “Let’s hope we get home some Abbys this year.”

The team is looking forward to its entry in the Film category, the campaign done for SET Max for the World XI versus Australia ICC championship. Karnik says, “It is a concept driven campaign where the floating idea was how to beat the mighty Australian team. Though there were only three Indians in the World XI team, we added the Indian flavour with unique suggestions offered by cricket fans.” One such suggestion was: ‘Gilchrist ko plastic bat pakdao (Give Gilchrist a plastic bat)!’

The team at Euro RSCG is also banking upon its public service campaign for cancer patients. The print campaign was a finalist at the Asia Pacific Ad Fest in Singapore. The campaign is hard-hitting and emphasises on the fact that smoking kills more people than any dictator ever did, be it Stalin or Hitler.

Karnik is also fond of the works the team has done for Gazali Restaurant. He explains that the entire campaign was built around the gossip in advertising offices, which surround the Phoenix Mill area, where the restaurant is located. It sums up with a clever line, “There's something fishy around the office, Gazali, the seafood restaurant.”

Euro RSCG’s Delhi branch has entered radio spots that it did for Red FM and Voltas. The team is hopeful of bagging an award for the Red FM ad.
