electricmela.com, India's first B2B portal for the electrical industry, has launched its business partners programme to help the electrical community reap the benefits of e-commerce. Under this programme, the company is looking at partnering with

web-development companies and Internet solution providers (ISPs) across the nation and through them reach out to the highly fragmented electrical community.

The criteria for becoming a business partner are simple. One needn't have a large office. Neither does one require to pay a fee to become a business partner. All the potential business partner requires are his entrepreneurial skills and a dedicated Internet-savvy team to back his vision.

These business partners will help educate the electrical community on the benefits of e-commerce and also help them take their businesses online by encouraging them to set up their own Mshops (virtual store fronts) on the site. International companies too

are looking at Mshops as a great way of transacting business with Indian companies and are in the process of setting Mshops on the site.

The auction module on the site too is being frequently used to get good rates for used capital goods. Currently, the bid price

of goods on auction is around Rs 48 crore.

Under the business partner programme, electricmela.com will share nearly a quarter of its earnings from the business brought in by the business partners with the partner. B K Sethi, CEO, electricmela.com, says, "Our objective is to accelerate the growth of B2B business in the electrical industry. We hope to reduce the cost of reaching out to the end consumer for independent

businessmen in the industry."

The site has recently launched itself in a new avatar, designed on the basis of the feedback from its users.

electricmela.com now has a much more vibrant look and a very easy user-friendly menu which helps even a first time user find his way easily through the site.

The site is aiming for complete B2B connectivity by the end of this quarter and is in the process of tying up with strategic alliance partners in the areas of corporate financing, logistics support, product validation, site security and IT training to achieve

its goal.
