Health & Glow clinics on the look-out for an ad agency

Health and Glow is a Kolkata based homeopathy clinic, which plans to spread its operations to the rest of India. In the race for this Rs 15-20 crore account are Mudra, JWT, O&M and Bates Enterprise

Kolkata based homeopathy clinic Health & Glow has called for a pitch in Kolkata. The three year old healthcare company has two clinics in Kolkata and one in Siliguri, but plans on establishing a nationwide presence in 2007. To mark its expansion, it is on the lookout for an ad agency, preferably one that has a presence in the major Indian metros. The company plans on spending around Rs 15-20 crore on advertising.

Noshe Oceanic has been handling the advertising for Health & Glow so far. “But since the agency is based in Delhi and we’re located in Kolkata, there were some coordination issues,” says Sanjeev Agarwal, CEO, Health & Glow. “Therefore, we need to look at other agencies.”

He informs agencyfaqs! that Mudra, JWT, O&M and Bates Enterprise are among those that have participated in the pitch process so far. A decision will be taken soon. The selected agency will be expected to do the media planning and buying as well for Health & Glow as and when the need arises. So far, Kolkata based PD Advertising had been in charge of that part of the business, and it will continue to handle it in Kolkata.

Health & Glow is all set to launch two clinics in Delhi next month, followed by clinics in Bangalore and Mumbai. The philosophy followed by the company is to adopt an integrated approach to disease management.

“The field of healthcare services is viewed as cold, formal and boring,” says Agarwal. “We would like our agency to create the brand personality of a friend – someone you can reply upon. We plan to take the healthcare experience beyond what the Batras and the Apollos are doing. Our brand will be much like a trusted family physician.”

The media mix will include television in a big way (particularly ads on the national news channels), followed by press, outdoor, radio, and below-the-line activities such as promotions and medical conferences. So far, Health & Glow has been relying heavily on press to do the job.

For the record, the Health & Glow clinics were started in 2003 by homeopathic physicians Dr DK Paul, Dr Abhijit Paul and Dr Bijay Paul. They are now jointly promoted by physicians and technicians in this field of alternative healthcare. The clinic specialises in problems relating to the hair and skin. It also tackles arthritis and obesity.
