TBWA India bags Seventymm creative duties; uses youtube

Seventymm has awarded its creative duties to TBWA’s recently launched interactive arm, Tequila in India. The account size is pegged at Rs 8 crore

TBWA Worldwide’s recently launched interactive arm, Tequila in India, has won its first business, the online movie rental company, Seventymm Services.

The pitch for this business – estimated to be Rs 8 crore – was called in November 2006 and it saw the participation of four agencies.

Seventymm Services has operations in two Indian cities – New Delhi and Bengaluru – at present. Its network will be extended to six other cities by March 2007.

Tequila has rolled out both online and offline media campaigns using TBWA’s disruption philosophy.

The movie rental business might not be a new concept in India, but this is for the first time that the business is getting organised and shifting from an offline model to an online one. Subhanker Sarker, chief operating officer, Seventymm, says, “The online movie rental service is a new concept in India and a whole lot of innovation is required to convey the message to the end consumers. So, we were on the lookout for an agency that thought beyond the conventional.”

Sarker adds, “We have a large consumer base in Bengaluru and Delhi. We will take up a number of activities at a local level.”

Kaustav Das, vice-president, TBWA India, says, “Online DVD rental is all about experience. We are not treading the traditional way for Seventymm. Here, the attempt is to connect with the consumer in a different way. Our mission is to make the consumer log on to Seventymm. If we do what others do, there is no point, so we will use a number of disruptive ways to reach the desired target group. In fact, as a part of the campaign, we have also posted the video ad on youtube.com.”

The video, titled ‘Jhakaas Formula Movie’, explains to viewers the various genres of movies. In a way, it presents the huge library of movies Seventymm! stores and across all genres.

Seventymm claims to offer access to over 10,000 movie titles and a consumer base of more than 10,000 subscribers across Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.
