Law & Kenneth enters Kolkata with a business from BMA Group

Law & Kenneth has launched its Kolkata branch to consolidate, manage and execute the every day operations for its ITC brand Essenza Di Wills

Suddenly there seems to be some uproar in Kolkata’s advertising market, following years of placidity. In fact, after a long time, there is news of an agency opening a branch in Kolkata with Law & Kenneth eyeing the ‘City of Joy’.

The main objective, however, for the agency is to service ITC’s Essenza Di Wills, which is based out of Kolkata. The agency has been handling this business for more than a year now.

Law & Kenneth’s chief operating officer, Anil Nair, says, “Till date, the business was completely serviced by the Mumbai branch. But from now onwards, our Mumbai branch will take care of innovation, creation and ideation, while the Kolkata branch will be responsible for the activation and implementation of the same.”

In addition, the agency has also bagged a part of the BMA Group business. It will handle BMA Stainless, a TNT and reinforcement bars manufacturing company, and the BMA Wealth Creators, a financial services company. The size of this business is estimated to be around Rs 3 crore.

The agency’s Kolkata branch will be headed by Shubhabrata Roy, business head for Law & Kenneth operations in Kolkata. Roy has close to 10 years of experience in the field of advertising and has been working with the agency for the last 7-8 months. He started his career with McCann Erickson in Kolkata. Prior to joining Law & Kenneth, he worked with Indo Aryan Publicity as the client services head.
