GOD's work finds place in ‘Luerzer's Archive’

GOD’s print campaign for Circle – the Mumbai-based technology and hardware company – has managed to fetch the agency this recognition. It was released in December 2006

Last December, GOD (Gang of Designers), which was earlier known Palasa, had created a print campaign for the Mumbai-based technology and hardware company, Circle. This campaign for a neon mouse has been featured in the January issue of ‘Luerzer's Archive’.

The campaign was created by Sandeep Bomble, executive creative director, who also heads the agency.

The campaign consists of three creatives. In the first one, a snake’s stomach is shown glowing, the reason being that it has swallowed the neon mouse. Similarly, in the second and third creative, the snake is replaced by an owl and a cat, respectively. As is known, as all three are predators for a mouse.

Says Bomble, “The product is called neon mouse which has this glow property. The idea behind the creative is that it the product is so attractive, that animals mistake it for real. No wonder cats, snakes and owls swallow it. The neon mouse has been shown glowing inside the system of these animals.”

Bomble adds, “It is very encouraging to get one’s creatives featured in the ‘Archive’ as it is a dream come true for all creative professional across the world.”

He also gives credit to Circle saying that despite being a small player, the company gave the agency total freedom in expressing its creativity.

Bomble also reveals that ‘Luerzer's Archive’ specially created a category for this ad; it has been featured under the ‘Computer’ category.

For the record, ‘Luerzer’s Archive’ magazine was founded in 1984 by ad veteran Walter Lürzer. Each 160-page issue features 70-80 of the world’s best new print campaigns and short synopses of 50 television commercials, dated and classified by individual product groups. This prestigious magazine reaches 1,52,000 admen worldwide and has a concentration of readers in America, Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa.

The other ad films from India that have made it to the ‘TV Archives’ in the past include McCann Erickson's Coca-Cola TVC and Happydent White, Jordan Toothbrush (in 1995), Sonara Tiles (Leo Burnett), Fevicol (‘Truck’ by O&M), Femina (‘Generation W – Bride’ by Enterprise Nexus), Center Shock (‘Barber’ and ‘Photograph’, both by O&M), ‘The Economic Times’ (‘Newsreader’ by Ambience Publicis) and S-Mart (Lowe).
