Happy Dog Films’ Star Fernandes on the jury of New York Festivals 2007

Star Fernandes, creative producer, Happy Dog Films, has been invited to be a judge at the New York Festivals 2007. She will be responsible for judging the technical aspects of films in the TV and Cinema Advertising category for the International Advertising Awards.

Fernandes has 13 years of experience and has made more than 200 films. Her credits include films for clients such as Coca-Cola, Toyota, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, GE, DHL, Honda, Colgate, Mountain Dew, Timex and Sony Ericsson. This is the first time she is judging an award show.

She remembers working on the Mountain Dew film, which was shot abroad and was given some opulent special effects during the post-production work.

Remarks Fernandes, “It is an honour as well as a challenge to judge the finest films selected from some of the best filmmakers worldwide.” She will judge more than 300 entries from all over the world.

Fernandes believes that over and above her experience in this field, one factor that was instrumental in her selection as a judge for NYF 2007 is the presence of Happy Dog Films in two other countries. Apart from India, the company has a presence in Australia and the US (in New York).

The entries will be judged on a scale of 1-10. Scores of 1-2 signifies a poorly conceived idea, 3-4 is below average, 5-6 is average, 7 is above average, 8 is superb but not exceptional, 9 is exceptional and 10 is out of this world.

The New York Festivals is in its 50th year. Finalists for the International Advertising Awards will be announced in late May 2007 and the final results of the competition will be announced at the presentation ceremony on June 12-14, 2007, in New York.
