Madison Creative rechristened mc2

The repositioning of Madison Creative comes after almost a decade, following the split of Madison Communications into Madison Creative and Madison Media in 1994

Madison Creative, the creative arm of Madison Communications, has been rechristened mc2. The creative agency has a new logo, too – a splash of black on yellow. The earlier logo had the name of the agency written in maroon. The colours suggest the new, young and vibrant image that the agency wishes to don. The letter ‘c’ is in the form of Pacman, which is to signify fun at work.

The idea of rechristening the agency as mc2 is derived from the equation e= mc2 derived by Albert Einstein, where e stands for energy.

The new name is to depict that the agency will handle its creative outputs with new perspectives such as positive energy, hunger and unconventional thinking, and also a new team in place.

Prabha Prabhu, partner and executive director, mc2, states, “True to the era it’s conceived in, mc2 will deliver advertising solutions as per the current trends in advertising and media.”

The rechristened agency now plans to offer multiple services – making ad films, marketing consultancy and logo or packaging design.

The rechristening of Madison Creative has happened more than a decade after it was floated as a separate unit within the Madison Group, following the split of the media and creative agency in 1994.

It was in 1998 that Madison began its journey with Sam Balsara and Prabhu. In 1994, following P&G’s decision to call for a pitch for its media duties, Madison Communications was split into Madison Creative and Madison Media. Madison Creative has always functioned as a full service agency, even after the formation of the separate entities.
