R Swamynathan moves out of IB&W

Swamynathan was senior vice-president, IB&W. He has not decided where he will head next

R Swamynathan, senior vice-president, IB&W, has put in his papers. His resignation comes within a year of his joining IB&W in July 2006.

Commenting on the development, Mukesh Gupta, chairman and managing director, IB&W, says, “Swamy’s departure has taken place on mutual understanding. Together, we had set out to attain certain organisational objectives that could not be accomplished to the optimal level due to various reasons. We are not looking to appoint anyone immediately for the current position.”

Swamynathan’s experience spans 21 years across diverse industries such as music, marketing and advertising. Before IB&W, he was working as general manager with Schoolnetindia.com, an organisation that identifies, evaluates and develops networked learning at the school level through technology-based teaching.

Before Schoolnetindia, he headed organisations such as Radio Mid-Day (formerly Go 92.5FM and now Radio One) and Magnasound. Prior to that, he was associated with Contract Advertising and worked as director, client servicing. Prominent brands he has worked on include Bharat Petroleum, Cadbury’s, Crompton Greaves, Singapore Airlines and Philips. Swamynathan applied the principles of advertising in the music industry when he joined Magnasound and achieved substantial results.

He has not decided where he will head next.
