Rahul Dravid on Gillette’s Winner Program

Three other sportsmen have been chosen for the Gillette Winners league apart from Dravid. They are Roger Federer, Tiger Woods and Thierry Henry

Gillette has chosen Rahul Dravid from India as an ambassador for the worldwide Gillette Winner Program. This programme was started by Gillette in February 2007. The programme echoes Gillette’s philosophy, ‘Be your best today’, and epitomises the commitment of sportspersons to perform to their optimal capacity.

The three other sportsmen who have been chosen for the Gillette Winners league apart from Dravid are Roger Federer, Tiger Woods and Thierry Henry.

Dravid exemplifies excellence in cricket and also represents the brand values of Gillette in terms of excellence in men’s grooming. He has been chosen on the basis of his past performance, including being chosen Wisden Cricketer of the Year 2000, and winning the Garfield Sobers Trophy 2004 and ICC Test player of the Year 2004. Dravid also has the highest ever batting average among Indian players.

Gillette will be coming up with a worldwide TV commercial that will feature all four sportsmen together for Gillette’s premium shaving products, including Mach 3 and its shaving gels. This commercial will be launched by the end of August this year. The creative agency for Gillette worldwide is BBDO.

Apart from broadcast advertising, Gillette in India will leverage this programme through marketing initiatives such as print, consumer promotions, point of sale materials, online support and outdoor advertising.
