These companies have entered into a strategic partnership and their first project is a contest wherein the winner has a chance to win a trip to the GoaFest
Cartwheel Creative has entered into a partnership with DesiCreative, a website for advertising professionals. The website was started more than three years ago by Paramvir Singh, who has worked with ad agencies such as JWT and Bates 141. Singh started this venture when he decided to take a sabbatical from advertising.
The partnership between Cartwheel and DesiCreative is a strategic one, where Cartwheel will provide content for the website. Singh reveals that the affiliation is purely strategic as of now and may include a financial partnership in later stages.
The first joint project between these companies is a T- shirt designing contest. The theme for the contest is DesiCreative, which means that the idea will be related to the advertising industry, with a desi (indigenous) flavour. Winners will be sent to GoaFest, to be held on April 2-4. The airfare and hotel stay will be sponsored by DesiCreative and Cartwheel.
The winning idea will be printed on T-shirts to be worn by delegates attending the GoaFest. The last day for receiving entries is March 25.
D Ramakrishna aka Ramki, executive director, Cartwheel, says that they hit upon the idea as they realised that not many agencies are sending delegates to the GoaFest due to the slowdown. This is an incentive for the creative brains and Ramki hopes that this will generate buzz in the industry.
Perhaps the timing of the partnership is perfect as Singh will soon start shooting for a movie and Cartwheel will manage the website in his absence.
Singh says that DesiCreative already has 5,000 registered users. The website allows creatives to upload their work and hence serves as a creative platform for ads from all over the world. It also has various discussion forums where people can air their views on advertising.
