Percept/H wins Rs 25 crore Toyota SUV-MUV business

The agency is learnt to be the new custodian of the accounts for three cars in the SUV-MUV segment of Toyota – Innova, Land Cruiser and Prado

Percept/H which has already been on the Toyota roster – it handles the SUV brand Toyota Fortuner – will now handle the creative duties of Toyota's entire sports utility vehicle (SUV) and multi utility vehicle (MUV) portfolio. The brands include the Innova, the Land Cruiser and the Prado. Though, senior executives at Percept H were unavailable for comment, reliable sources have confirmed the development to afaqs!. No comments were forthcoming from Toyota, either.

The account size is estimated to be in the region of Rs 25 crore.

These three brands were earlier handled by Dentsu Communications. Following the re-alignment, Dentsu will continue to look after the creative duties of the Toyota Corolla Altis, the Camry and the corporate duties.

Toyota launched the Fortuner this year and Percept/H was responsible for the execution of the campaign that was released at the time of the launch.

Innova is one of the most popular brands from the company and hit the Indian roads in 2005. The brand has Bollywood actor, Aamir Khan, as its brand endorser.

Toyota plans to usher in a small car as well. Despite murmurs doing the rounds, it is learnt that no agency has been finalised to handle the creative duties.

Other cars in the SUV-MUV space include the Chevrolet Captiva, Mahindra Scorpio, Chevrolet Tavera, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavour and Tata Safari.
