Manhattan Communications appoints Vipul Mathur as head, international sales

Mathur has more than 14 years of experience and has been associated with Zee Entertainment, Zee International, Radio City and Webdunia.com.

Integrated advertising agency Manhattan Communications has appointed Vipul Mathur as business head, international sales. In his new role, Mathur will be responsible for clients based in India who are targeting the ethnic South Asian audiences in international markets.

Mathur will be based in Delhi and will report to Shantonu Aditya, co-promoter and director, Manhattan Communications.

Aditya says, "With his experience, we look forward to growing our international sales business even faster in the coming months." While consolidating its digital and marketing solutions business, the company has now focused on its international advertising sales business from India.

Mathur says, "With offices in New York, Toronto, London and India, I am sure that we can leverage the business opportunities across continents. The team here is aggressive and dynamic and I find that a big change."

Mathur has more than 14 years of experience in media sales, including nine years at Zee Entertainment and Zee International. He has also worked with Radio City, Webdunia.com and other media companies.

The agency specialises in targeting the South Asian diaspora in the international market and continues its aggressive growth across the US, Canada and India.

In the last couple of months, the company has appointed quite a few people to head various businesses. It brought in Rakesh Misra as chief operating officer, BTL (below-the-line) from Tequila, the direct marketing arm of TBWA; and Saibal Dutta as digital head from iAvatarZ Digital, a digital advertising firm.

The agency also brought on board Sandip Tarkas, president, customer strategy, Future Group and chief executive officer, Future Media, as independent director.

Manhattan Communications has offices in the US, Canada, the UK and India. It has fully owned subsidiary companies in MediaMorphosis LLC, a full service agency based in New York; and Ethnocast Inc., an ad network with proven digital technology. The shareholders of the company include Bennett Coleman and Co. and PayPod, USA.
