Avail banking on the go at ‘Bank of Baroda Andheri’ Metro Station

“Reaching 1.5 lakh commuters of Mumbai Metro would enable the Bank to become the travel partners of the commuters offering banking in transit. Through this initiative the Bank is also leveraging on its digital competency by offering anytime anywhere banking experience. The Bank is also exploring to offer more state- of- art- technology products & services through this platform.

‘Bank of Baroda Andheri’ Metro Station is one of the landmark branding initiative by the Bank which will be unique revenue stream for the railways” as expressed by Shri P.S. Jayakumar, MD & CEO, Bank of Baroda at the inauguration of Bank of Baroda Andheri Metro Station.

Bank of Baroda has become the first bank to secure the Station branding rights of a metro station in Mumbai. Andheri Metro Station will now be called as ‘Bank of Baroda Andheri’. This announcement was made at a special event hosted by the bank on Monday July 3rd 2017.

This event was graced by Mr. P S Jayakumar, MD & CEO, Bank of Baroda along with Executive Directors, Mr. Mayank K. Mehta, Mr. Ashok Kumar Garg & Ms. Papia Sengupta. Many other senior officials of the bank were also present on this occasion. Mr Jayakumar flagged off a Bank of Baroda branded metro train which will run the entire length of the Line 1 route of Mumbai Metro between Ghatkopar to Versova.

The Me-Lobbies at the metro station will offer various banking services including Account Opening Kiosk to facilitate instant account opening and issuance of debit card with E- KYC, ATM for Cash Withdrawal and Multi-Functional Kiosk which offer facilities like cheque deposit, mobile recharge, account balance enquiry, mini statement generation, bill payment, internet banking convenience, etc .

Bank of Baroda, will be the first bank in Mumbai to experiment with such station branding rights as a tool to showcase the credentials of the bank to about 1.5 lakh commuters who will travel daily from Bank of Baroda Andheri to different locations in Mumbai. It is one of the busiest stations on Line 1, with 21% of the passengers travelling through the station. The station, works as an interchange station for commuters traveling between Western, Central and Harbour Lines of the Mumbai local trains.
