Sports Marketing firm Baseline Ventures crosses Rs 100 crores in billings in 2017, raises fresh equity

Baseline Ventures, a sports marketing, celebrity management and brand licensing firm has achieved billings of over a Rs 100 crores in 2017. The firm, which represents the likes of PV Sindhu, Ravindra Jadeja and rising stars like U-19 cricket captain Prithwi Shaw, grew it's billings by almost 45 % on the back of some blue chip clients, including the ATP and the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Baseline has also recently raised 1 million in private placement from a Singapore investor where the firm is currently valued at USD 25 million.

Other than PV Sindhu, Jadeja and Shaw, Baseline’s roster includes the likes of Kidambi Srikanth, cricket star Smriti Mandhana , and talented actress Zaira Wasim who starred in Dangal and “Secret Superstar”.

Tuhin Mishra, the Managing Director of Baseline said, “while we have a very strong offering in popular sports like cricket and badminton, we have also made a conscious attempt to have a significant presence in more niche sports. We also represent the legendary Pankaj Advani, 18 time World Champion in Snooker and Billiards and Arjun Maini India’s only GP3 winner and Haas F1 development driver in Motor Sports”

Speaking on their future plans, Tuhin also revealed that Baseline was close to making a big annoucement with a major national sports association for a new sporting league.

Baseline’s current client list includes Pepsico, MRF, Infosys, Nokia, HCL Technologies, Bridgestone, Xiaomi, Bank of Baroda, Hero Moto Corp, Vizag Steel, Panasonic Batteries, Reckitt Benkeiser, NTPC, Coal India, Johnson & Johnson, Gillette, ACT Fibernet, Nippon Paints, Parle Foods, Titan Industries and Equitas Bank.

The company was instrumental in raising sponsorship money for U-17 FIFA World Cup, roping in all six National Supporters for the first ever FIFA event in India. They also work closely with the Chennai Super Kings, the global tennis body, ATP, and the Bear Gryll Survival Academy. They are also the exclusive licensees of the Liverpool Football Club in India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh.

The firm was started at the end of 2014 by five industry professionals, Tuhin Mishra, Vipin Nair, Ramakrishnan R, Vishal Jaison & Raman Grover with 3 million backing from a US venture capital firm.
