Media Transasia to launch ‘Maxim’ in India

Delhi-based publication house Media Transasia gears up to launch ‘Maxim’ and other international titles in India

Media Transasia is all set to bring international titles to India. First off their list is ‘Maxim’, the general interest magazine for men. ‘Maxim’ is targeted exclusively at men and will be launched by the end of 2005.

Now the magazine can boast of a circulation of around 4.1 crore and a readership of approximately 21 crore, worldwide.

Following the launch of ‘Maxim’, Media Transasia will launch another three titles by the end of 2006.

Leading the publication’s latest forays is Piyush Sharma, CEO and associate publisher of ‘Maxim’ in India. Sharma has moved here recently from Tehelka, where he was vice-president, marketing.

Sharma has multi-functional exposure, having worked in FMCG, IT, consultancy and the service industry before moving to media.

Commenting on the magazine, Sharma says, “The Indian edition of ‘Maxim’ will be similar to the international edition in terms of design, layout and tone, but the content will be adapted to suit Indian sensibilities.”

He continues, “‘Maxim’ will be launched in India in a big way, which will be representative of the magazine – truly international and full of buzz.”

Media Transasia India Ltd is a Delhi-based publication house, which houses several magazines, including ‘Discover India’, ‘India Design and Interior’ and ‘Swagat’.
