New Update

The Hindi daily plans to do the same with the other editions too

‘Dainik Bhaskar’ has become the first regional newspaper to go all-colour. The change has come into effect from August 17.

The regular issue of ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ is around 20 pages, of which 16 pages were already coloured. But with these four addition coloured pages, the entire newspaper is now in colour.

Sanjeev Kotnala, senior general manager, ‘Dainik Bhaskar’, clarifies that the move will not be accompanied by a price change, either for advertisers or consumers. He says that the idea is to proactively keep in line with the other dailies who will follow this trend.

Kotnala says these four pages will create more inventory for the advertisers, who generally prefer to advertise their products through a coloured medium.

Colour is the vehicle to carry a brighter, richer communication message and pictures, giving a higher advertising appeal to the overall look of the paper, he asserted. The same will be emulated for the other editions in future as and when resources permit, and will necessarily follow hierarchy, need and market requirements.
