Channel [V] launches hunt for VJ Freshers

The channel will conduct a ‘VJ Freshers’ hunt starting this September in four cities – Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and New Delhi

Channel , which has already tasted success with reality television, is getting back to it. In fact, its singing talent hunt show V Popstars was one of the early ones that initiated such kind of programming. It is now on the look-out for the next potential face of Channel .

The channel will conduct a ‘VJ Freshers’ hunt for starting this September in four cities – Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and New Delhi. This hunt is expected to go on for three months and will be aired exclusively on Channel in a series of six special episodes.

Participants are supposed to clear the requisite entrance tests that will begin with a group discussion and followed by a face-to-face repartee with the jury and some action in front of the camera.

Ranvir Shourie and Vinay Pathak, former Channel VJs, will head the jury to pick the best of the best from each city.

Amar K Deb, head honcho, Channel , India, says, “Channel has created many dynamic youth icons such as Sophia Haque, Laila Rouss, Ranvir Shourie and Meghana Reddy, who have been trendsetters and have overwhelmed and rejoiced audiences in the Indian entertainment industry with their cool and flamboyant attitude. Through this talent hunt, we seek freshers with the right attitude who can be further trained and honed to make the people take notice of their calibre.”

Channel will select the final winner after having put to test the eight finalists who will be shortlisted from all over the country. These eight finalists will spend a week in Goa and will be expected to perform to the best of their capacity.
