Kurush Grant, chief executive of ITC Ltd’s tobacco and FMCG division, has been appointed chairman of the National Readership Studies Council (NRSC). Grant is the advertiser representative of the Audit Bureau of Circulation.

At ITC, Grant has been responsible for marketing a huge range of products, including cigarettes and other FMCG products. He has also been involved in the development of ITC’s foray into FMCG sectors such as food, retail and garments.

Grant’s involvement with market research dates back to the 1980s when he worked with ORG to computerise the retail audit. He feels strongly about the development of marketing sciences and has propagated it through various lectures in business schools.

Grant is the immediate past chairman of the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the chairman of the Services Sector Sub Committee of the Confederation of Indian Industry (Eastern Region) and the vice-chairman of the Indian Society of Advertisers.

He is also a director on the board of King Maker Marketing, USA, and a member of the executive committee of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, the FMCG National Committee and the Confederation of Indian Industry.
