The seven episode series will be aired May 6 onwards
Food is his second passion, he writes columns on the subject and has an opinion on all that he dines on. Vir Sanghvi, newspaper editor, columnist, TV chat show host and now CEO of a television company, has been roped in by Discovery Travel and Living to host their new series on Indian food, ‘A Matter of Taste’.
The seven episode series, which is to be aired from May 6, will take the viewer on a trip through Indian kitchens and delve into the eating and drinking habits of the people of this country. The series will be aired later in other parts of the world.
‘A Matter of Taste’ has been co-written, produced and directed by Robin Roy of Robin Roy Productions. Sanghvi has contributed to the script of the series as well as the research that has gone into it.
The series will showcase how Indian chefs have modified Chinese recipes to create what he calls Sino-Ludhianvi cuisine in the episode, ‘Sino Ludhianvi Cuisine’, and how Darjeeling produces the world’s most expensive tea, in ‘Two Leaves and a Bud’.

He discovers how wines are now being exported from India (in ‘India Uncorked’) in the fifth episode, and traces the migration of the Tandoori chicken and how it has changed the eating habits of Britain (in ‘Tandoori Chicken: The Migratory Bird’).
The last episode will have Sanghvi uncovering milk’s ubiquitous presence and its influence in our daily lives, ranging from health to tradition to our food.
