‘India Today’ to drive ‘Auto Bild’ to India

Popular German auto magazine ‘Auto Bild’ will soon drive to India courtesy ‘India Today’. Europe’s biggest automobile magazine is expected to make an Indian debut within the next two months.

Confirming the development, Pavan Varshnei, ‘Business Today’ publishing director, says, “Yes, we are in the process of getting the popular auto magazine to India.” He didn’t divulge any further information as the deal hasn’t been signed yet.

‘Auto Bild’ is a leading German automobile magazine published by Axel Springer AG since 1986. Every week, the automobile magazine provides information on the most important trends and latest developments in the world of motor vehicles. Road trials and comparative tests give the reader practical assistance in deciding which new or used car to buy.

The weekly magazine will be the first international auto title to hit the stands in India. The magazine is available in Europe for €1.50. With a worldwide subscription of more than six lakh copies, it is expected to provide good competition to local titles such as ‘Autocar India’, ‘Overdrive’, ‘Car India’ and ‘Bike India’.

The ‘Auto Bild’ family includes ‘Auto Bild Allrad’, ‘Auto Bild Sportscar’, ‘Auto Bild Motorsport’ and ‘Automobile Tests’. Country editions of ‘Auto Bild’ are published in Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and the Ukraine, and collectively reach 40 million readers.
