Pune gets its first IMAX theatre at Cinépolis, Westend Mall

Cinépolis, India’s first international and world’s fourth-largest movie theatre chain, announced today that guests visiting the WESTEND Mall, Aundh, Pune can now enjoy The IMAX Experience at its newly opened IMAX theatre featuring the release of The Magnificent Seven. The first IMAX screen for Pune, which is a part of an existing eight-screen multiplex, was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. John M. Schreiner, Senior Vice President for Theatre Development, IMAX Corporation along with Mr. Devang Sampat, Director, India Strategic Initiatives for Cinépolis India.

The new IMAX at Cinépolis, WESTEND Mall, Aundh offers moviegoers a truly immersive cinematic experience, allowing them to enjoy the biggest blockbusters like never before. IMAX’s cutting-edge projection system, which delivers crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital sound system, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie. This iconic IMAX theatre has a seating capacity of 283 and will run five shows daily. Cinépolis has strategically chosen to open its second IMAX screen in India in Pune given that the city comprises a plethora of discerning and voracious movie-watchers. In 2014, Cinépolis opened its first IMAX theatre in India at Viviana mall, Thane.
