While most devoted sons and daughters rushed to restaurants to treat their mothers, a bunch of foodies in Mumbai came together on May 11 to celebrate Mother's Day in a unique way. They chose to cook out at Palate Culinary Studio in an event organised by Godrej Tyson Foods along with Food Bloggers Association of India (FBAI).

A readymade basket containing popular Yummiez Chicken Sausages and the newly launched Veg Hariyali bites along with other ingredients were given to the foodies. The challenge was to create two signature dishes.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from a large number of contestants. The energy at the studio was high and each participant tossed up an interesting variation of the quintessential sausage and Hariyali Bites. Chef Vicky Ratnani, consultant chef, Godrej Tyson Food judged the competition and selected Purabi Naha as the winner and Zenia Irani as runner-up.

Passionate foodies began rhapsodies about #MaaKeHaatKaKhaana and the conversations continued on Twitter.

Sunday was chosen for the event as most people indulge in food on weekends. Also, Sundays are associated with home cooked (read: mom cooked) food, and mothers displaying their unconditional love and care through new recipes and elaborate meals.

Arabind Das, COO, Godrej Tyson Foods, says, "The brand aims to become the reason for great bonding moments and bringing families together. Cook-out on Mother's Day not only allowed foodies to bond with each other and express their gratitude to their mothers, but also let them experiment with Yummiez and create stronger emotional appeal and connect."

Purabi Naha, an ardent foodie and a passionate cook, says, "I am grateful to Godrej Tyson for organising this activity. I had a good time cooking with my son. I am happy that I won the challenge as well."

Yummiez is a brand under Godrej Tyson Foods, a joint venture between Godrej Agrovet, a part of the Godrej Group, and Tyson Foods. The company manufactures and markets poultry and vegetarian products with strong value-added brands such as Real Good Chicken and Real Good Yummiez. The venture combines Godrej's supply chain and value-added brands with Tyson Foods' expertise in vertical integration to rear safe chicken, hygienic, world class processing and product development to create great-tasting, safe, and healthy protein products.
