NTPC wins DAC Advertising/ Marketing and Media Quiz 2005

Leo Burnett was judged runner up at the awards function

This was the fourth consecutive year that the Delhi Advertising Club (DAC) organised a quiz competition for professionals in the industry. Titled DAC Advertising/ Marketing and Media Quiz 2005, the event attracted professionals from the advertising fraternity as also advertisers.

NTPC emerged the winner of the event with Leo Burnett following as runner up. The quiz master for the event was Sunil Gupta who is country head, APRAIS International.

Commenting on the event, VK Chopra, president, DAC, says, “It was a successful event with almost all the major agencies of the country participating. It was also an event to gather information and knowledge on the industry.”

In his address to the gathering, Chopra exhorted more and more professionals from Delhi to become DAC members and encourage other functions for the professionals in the industry.

Chopra also announced the National Awards for Excellence in Advertising, the ceremony for which is slated to take place in April 2006. This is a step forward in taking the Delhi awards to the national level and in including players from across the country.

He says, “We reckon on around 1,000 entries for approximately 22 categories.”

Some 27 teams participated in the DAC quiz, including Selvel Media Services, TBWA Anthem, Madison Communications, Lintas, Triton Communications, Grey Worldwide, JWT, Leo Burnett, Cheil Communications, NTPC, Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd, Discovery Communications and Carat Media Services.

DAC honorary general secretary Narinder Sharma appealed to the creative directors, copy writers and CEOs of the advertising agencies and the marketing heads of the leading advertisers to send in their suggestions for the awards.
