Ogilvy & Mather wins Schneider Electric's Clipsal brand

The size of the business is estimated to be in the region of Rs 8-9 crore

Ogilvy & Mather has bagged the creative duties for Clipsal, a leading consumer brand of Schneider Electric in India. Schneider also owns brands such as Merlin Gerin, Telemecanique and Square D.

O&M, which bagged the business after three rounds of presentations, had to compete with five other leading agencies.

The account, which is estimated to be worth around Rs 8-9 crore, was earlier handled by Euro RSCG.

Sanjay Thapar, president, O&M, Delhi, says, “The communication will focus upon raising the image of the brand and making Schneider the preferred name in this product category.” The agency is working on a TVC that will go on air by the end of this month.

Sources reveal that apart from Clipsal, which is the consumer face of the brand and also probably its most advertised brand, O&M will eventually handle business across categories. The corporate account of Schneider Electric will also be awarded to O&M.

Schneider Electric, which made an entry in India in 1995, is a known name in the field of electrical distribution, industrial control and automation.
