Both brands belong to the Invista stable. Wieden+Kennedy's Delhi branch will take care of the business.

Wieden+Kennedy has won the creative duties for Invista's Lycra and Coolmax brands. The business will be handled out of the Delhi branch of the agency. This is the fourth win in line for Wieden+Kennedy, Delhi, after Heineken, Oberoi and Trident.

The agency won the account after the company had called for a multi-agency pitch. Sources from the advertising industry, who do not want to be named, have confirmed the news. The size of the business remains undisclosed.

Lycra fibre first appeared in denim during the mid 1970s. After decades of Lycra fibre innovations for denim apparel, the brand evolved even further in 2006, when Invista introduced XFit Lycra fabric. The new technology allowed designers to develop denim that would stretch and recover in all directions, providing jeans with exceptional comfort and fit.

Coolmax is a trademark for a series of moisture-wicking technical fabrics developed by Invista in 1986. Invista was formerly known as DuPont Textiles and Interiors.

Invista operates four global businesses in apparel, intermediates, performance surfaces and materials, respectively. In addition, Invista offers process technology licenses for the polyester, nylon and spandex value chains through Invista Performance Technologies. The company claims to be one of the world's largest integrated producers of polymers and fibres, primarily for nylon, spandex and polyester applications, with a business presence in more than 20 countries.
