Surjo Dutt, who joined the agency recently, continues to be the national creative director.
The FCB Ulka Group has announced the appointment of Mahendra Bhagat as national creative director (NCD). In his new role, Bhagat will be based in Bengaluru and will support all offices of the agency in South India. Prior to this, he was with JWT Mumbai as vice-president and creative head where he worked on brands such as The Times of India, Kellogs, Rin, Nakshatra Jewellery, and Godrej Appliances.
Swati Bhattacharya, chief creative officer (CCO), FCB Ulka, adds, "Bhagat is a powerhouse of talent, and by his own admission, advertising is his first love from which he couldn't stay away for too long. We are fortunate that he has chosen us as his 'comeback' agency. I am sure we can look forward to some path-breaking work under his leadership."
Speaking on his new role, Bhagat says, "Advertising has always been influenced by other art forms such as cinema, literature, theatre, folk art, paintings, and installations. In my second innings, I would like to bring in some new practices that I followed while exploring art in its pure form. It is great to be part of the dynamic team that is working towards creating a new avatar of FCB Ulka."
