Restructuring at Enterprise Nexus, Delhi; to get new branch head soon

Lokesh Tiwari has been elevated to the position of vice-president and ex-O&M hand Sumeet Chatterjee will join the agency as general manager on October 1

The Delhi branch of Enterprise Nexus has been in the throes of a restructuring exercise following the departure of Sundeep Kumar, director, Enterprise Nexus, who was also running the Delhi branch of the agency. While Mohammed Khan, chairman, Enterprise Nexus, is quick to point that the restructuring is in no way related to Kumar's departure, the veteran adman and founder of the agency is in Delhi, putting in place a senior team.

Lokesh Tiwari, who has been with Enterprise Nexus for 14 years, has been elevated to the position of vice-president from general manager, and ex-O&M hand Sumeet Chatterjee will join the agency as general manager on October 1. Sandeep Madan, who joined the agency some seven months ago, shares the same designation.

The agency is yet to make a formal announcement on the person who will fill up the top slot. Sources indicate Kumar's successor may not be one from within the agency (Enterprise Nexus), but an outsider.

Elaborating on the need for restructuring at Enterprise Nexus, Delhi, Khan says, "Enterprise Nexus, Delhi is a large, Rs 100-crore-plus operation. So what we have done is split the Delhi office into two unequal parts. While the larger part of the business comprises Opel, LML, Glaxo SmithKline (Iodex), Radico 8 pm Whiskey and Sony, the other part consists of Chevrolet and a few more accounts."

Now on, this "larger part of the business", as described by Khan, would be overseen by Tiwari, and the other businesses would be handled by Madan, "a bright and talented person we picked up recently," adds Khan.

Talking about Chatterjee's appointment, Khan says, "He had worked with us earlier, at a very a junior level, and has really blossomed since then." While Chatterjee started his career at Kodak, his first brush with advertising happened in 1995 when he joined JWT (then HTA), Delhi, as senior media planner. "I had knocked the doors of almost all advertising agencies, and HTA was my last wild chance," says Chatterjee, who worked at JWT for about four years before moving on to Lowe, Mumbai (then Lintas), in 1998.

"My growth came in at Lowe. Over the years, Lowe became like home. I wanted to get out of the comfort zone," remarks Chatterjee, "and take up challenges." In 2002, Chatterjee moved to O&M, Mumbai. Says Khan, "Sumeet is invaluable to us. He will bring with him his vast experience in the two-wheeler category." While Chatterjee has worked on the Bajaj Auto account at Lowe, at Enterprise Nexus, he would oversee the LML business and would report to Tiwari. © 2003 agencyfaqs!
