Mindworks Global acquires Dancewithshadows.com

Dancewithshadows.com deals in automobile, technology and aviation related news

Content services firm, Mindworks Global Media, has acquired a news portal named Dancewithshadows.com, which deals in automobile, technology and aviation related content.

Mindworks Global Media, a six-year-old company, offers content outsourcing services such as copy editing, content creation, design, ad production and page layout to more than 50 newspapers, magazines and websites in various parts of the world.

Mindworks Global acquires Dancewithshadows.com
Dancewithshadows.com was founded by Babychen Mathew in 2005. Before that, Mathew was assistant editor, features and website, Business Standard. As part of the recent deal, he has joined Mindworks Global as chief internet officer.

Mindworks Global claims that Dancewithshadows.com gets about 1 million unique users per month, 70 per cent of which come from India.

On the reason behind the acquisition, Tony Joseph, chief executive officer, Mindworks, says, "Online content is a huge opportunity in terms of readership and advertising revenue."

Joseph indicates that there are no plans to acquire more such portals in the near future; but adds that the company may launch or add more verticals under Dancewithshadows.com.

On the monetisation front, Mindworks will use advertising to earn revenue from Dancewithshadows.com. Currently, the site earns revenue from ads served via Google content network. Later, Mindworks may appoint ad sales teams or use online ad networks to monetise the portal.
