The first Twitter Townhall will be presided over by Rahul Welde, vice-president, media, Unilever, for Asia, Africa, the Middle-East, Turkey, and Russia.
The Advertising Club has announced the commencement of Twitter Townhall, a one-of-its-kind digital outreach programme, in partnership with Twitter India. Twitter Townhall will act as a bridge between industry leaders and the country's youth to share and discuss on a digital platform, growth and development in various fields. Beginning February 12, the first Twitter Townhall will be presided over by Rahul Welde, vice-president, media, Unilever - Asia, Africa, the Middle-East, Turkey, and Russia. His Twitter handle is @RahulWelde.
The Twitter Townhalls will follow a pre-decided schedule where The Advertising Club's Twitter handle, @TheAdClub_India, will invite its followers and The Advertising Club members to send in their questions via the social media platform. In case one's question gets shortlisted, it will be answered by business leaders every Friday, at a pre-decided time from The Advertising Club Twitter handle @TheAdClub_India.
Rishi Jaitly, vice-president, media for Asia-Pacific, the Middle-East and North Africa, Twitter India, adds, "Twitter Townhalls have been used by global business and political leaders to connect with their followers and audiences at large, for quite some time now. Bringing the Townhall to India is a huge step for digital India. The Twitter Townhall will be chaired by business personalities every week, including CMOs, CEOs, agency heads, media journalists and media honchos such as Sam Balsara, chairman and managing director, Madison World, Bobby Pawar, managing director and chief creative officer, Publicis India, Madhukar Kamath, group chief executive officer and managing director, DDB Mudra Group, and Ashish Bhasin, chairman and chief executive officer, South Asia - Dentsu Aegis.
Founded in 1954, The Ad Club, is an industry body that provides a platform for professionals from the advertising, marketing, media, research, and communications fraternity to gain from each other's experience. The Ad Club also organises industry events such as The Ad Club Awards, The Abbys, Effies, Emvies, and Young Achievers.
