Tiwari joined the direct to home business of the Zee Group as deputy vice-president, marketing, on the last day of 2007
Sandeep Tiwari has joined Dish TV, the direct to home business of the Zee Group, as deputy vice-president, marketing. He will report there to Anjali Malhotra, vice-president, marketing.
Tiwari joins Dish TV from LG Electronics India, where he spent 11 years, his last designation being head of product marketing. He put in his papers at LG in October 2007 and joined Dish TV on December 31, 2007.
Commenting on his move, Tiwari explains, “I have been seeking a fresh challenge and looking for a new sector to work in. DTH is the right sector to jump into because of the excitement that it offers.”
Tiwari joined LG in 1997, the year in which the Indian arm of the South Korean company was set up, as a management trainee. Over the years, he climbed up to become product manager and then product group head for microwave ovens. Later, he started handling multiple portfolios. In 2004, he took over as the product planning head for the home appliances division, and this portfolio was expanded to marketing in 2005. Since February 2006, Tiwari has been handling LG’s consumer electronics, GSM and IT businesses.
