Seemanto Roy, head, Sahara entertainment business and Amby Valley City, says, “This arrangement with NDTV Media will enable us to deploy our sales resources more effectively and we are sure that this partnership will augment our sales efforts. By leveraging each other’s inherent strengths and optimising returns, we hope to take our television business to the next level. This certainly should prove to be a mutually beneficial arrangement.”

Raj Nayak, chief executive, NDTV Media, says, “We believe that both Sahara One and Filmy are strategically poised to take a big leap forward in their respective genres and there are huge opportunities that are still untapped. The timing also perfectly coincides with our plans as we foray further into aggregating various media just as we have done for the MDAS aggregation model in the online space with MSN. This is the beginning of a number of new initiatives in the evolution of NDTV Media’s business model.”

NDTV Media is the exclusive sales and marketing representative for MSN in India and for Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions (MDAS). It is responsible for all revenue generating efforts for the MSN offerings and for the online and mobile verticals under the MDAS.

Sahara One recently launched Firangi, India’s first world television channel. Positioned to showcase in Hindi best-in-class television programming from around the world, Firangi proposes to break new ground with the creation of the world television category.
