Red FM leads in Mumbai; no change in Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru

Though Red FM was the market leader in Mumbai in Week 47, Radio City, last week’s No. 1, is too close behind for comfort

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 47 is out and Red FM has succeeded in grabbing the top position in Mumbai. The top positions in Kolkata (Radio Mirchi), Bengaluru (Big FM) and Delhi (Radio Mirchi) remain unchanged.

Mumbai

Red FM is in the top spot in Mumbai, though there is hardly any difference between the two top spots. With 18.5 per cent market share, Red FM leads the market, an increase of 1.4 percentage points. Snapping at its heels is Radio City, which has slipped by one position since the previous week. With a share of 18.3 per cent, Radio City has lost one percentage point. Big FM, which is third, has seen its share decrease by 0.1 percentage points to 16.4 per cent.

With 12.9 per cent share, Radio Mirchi continues in the fourth spot, an increase of 0.6 percentage points. Trailing behind is AIR FM Gold with 10.4 per cent, an increase of one percentage point.

Among other stations, Radio One has a 7.9 per cent share in Mumbai, Fever FM, 6.1 per cent, AIR FM Rainbow, 3.6 per cent, Vividh Bharati, 2.5 per cent, Akashvani, 1.7 per cent, and Meow FM, 1.6 per cent.

Delhi

Radio Mirchi continues to be the No. 1 here, with a market share of 25.8 per cent in Week 46, a decrease of 0.3 percentage points over the previous week. AIR FM Gold continues in the second place with a market share of 14.3 per cent, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points in its market share.

The third spot in the Capital is held by Fever FM with a 10.2 per cent share, a drop of 0.6 percentage points. Radio One has moved to the fourth position with a 9.2 per cent share, an increase of 0.6 percentage points. In the fifth place is Red FM, with a 9.1 per cent share.

Among other stations, Big FM has a 7.8 per cent share in Delhi, Radio City, 7 per cent, AIR FM Rainbow, 5.1 per cent, Hit FM, 4.3 per cent, Meow FM, 4.3 per cent, Vividh Bharati, 2.6 per cent, and Akashvani, 0.3 per cent.

Bengaluru

Big FM continues at the top here, with a 24.8 per cent share, a decrease of 2.7 percentage points from Week 46. With a decrease of 1.2 percentage points, Radio Mirchi continues in the second spot with a 17.1 per cent share. AIR FM Vividh Bharati is the new station in the third spot and finished the week with a 10.2 per cent share, an increase of 4.8 percentage points.

S FM has managed to hold on to the fourth position, with a share of 9.5 per cent, a decrease of 0.3 percentage points. Moving down to the fifth position is AIR FM Rainbow, with a 9.4 per cent share – a decrease of 0.8 per cent.

Among other stations in Bengaluru, Radio One has an 8.3 per cent share, Radio City, 7.1 per cent, Fever FM, 6.8 per cent, Radio Indigo, 3.1 per cent, Gyan Vani, 2.1 per cent, and Akashvani, 1.6 per cent.

Kolkata

The market shares here remained unchanged in Week 47. With its share increasing from 20.8 per cent in Week 46 to 21.1 per cent in Week 47, Radio Mirchi continued to be the No. 1. Big FM maintained its second position with a market share of 17.8 per cent, despite a decrease of 0.8 percentage points. Friends FM, too, maintained its position as No. 3, with a share of 14.1 per cent.

Red FM holds on to its fourth position, with a share of 10.3 per cent. Amaar FM is the new player in the fifth position and has a share of 8.6 per cent.

Among other stations in Kolkata, Fever FM has an 8.5 per cent share, Meow FM, 6.7 per cent, AIR FM Rainbow, 4.4 per cent, AIR FM Gold, 3.7 per cent, Akashvani, 2.1 per cent, Power FM, 1.8 per cent, and Vividh Bharati, 0.9 per cent.
