'India Inc.' to be launched by year-end

Inc. will be the third magazine to be launched by 9.9 Mediaworx this year

9.9 Mediaworx plans to launch the Indian edition of New York based monthly magazine, Inc., by the end of December. The Indian version of the magazine will not just focus on start ups but also on high growth companies. The magazine will be priced at about Rs 150 and will be available across the country.

The company is looking at a circulation in the range of 15,000 copies. "We are more of a B2B company and we follow a closed circulation model. We will target a clear database of people who will be interested in this product," says Pramath Raj Sinha, founder and managing director, 9.9 Media. Though the magazine will be available at newsstands, it does not intend to make a big splash during the launch.

The company has put in place a 10 member team for the magazine. This is the second delay in the launch of the magazine. While last time it was due to a delay in getting approvals from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting because of the General Elections, this time it got delayed as the company launched two other magazines, CFO India and Edu.

9.9 Media was launched in September 2007. In 2008, the venture capital firm, Helion Ventures Pvt. India II LLC, bought stake in the company. The total foreign holding in the company is about 26 per cent. It also publishes Digit, which it acquired from Jasubhai Digital Media.
