Zee replaces Sony at No. 2; DD1 up at No. 6

On the back of Asia Cup and the historic India-Pakistan tussle on the playground, DD1 added 28 extra points to gain 86 GRPs, against 58 GRPs during last week. The channel replaced Life Ok at the sixth position in the GEC list. Meanwhile, Zee TV has replaced Sony at the No. 2 position, even after a drop of 3 GRPs.

The Top 10 GEC list has seen a lot of shuffles in Week 12. As per TAM, C&S 4+, HSM, Star Parivaar Awards has helped Star Plus gain 31 points to garner 318 GRPs in Week 12 of 2012/03, against 287 GRPs registered in the previous week. The relative share of the channel has also increased to 22.9 per cent, up from last week's 21 per cent.

Zee TV has been adding points gradually. Last week, it replaced Colors at the No. 3 position for the second time in a month. This week, it has climbed even higher to the No. 2 position, even though it has registered a drop of three points in its ratings in the week ended March 24.

Currently at No. 2, Zee TV has registered 214 GRPs, down from last week's 217 GRPs. The channel share has also seen a drop from 15.9 per cent in Week 11 to 15.4 per cent in the current week.

At No. 3, Sony has seen significant falls in its ratings over the past few weeks. The channel has lost nine points to garner 209 GRPs in the current week (218 GRPs in the previous week). The channel share has also come down from 15.9 per cent to 15 per cent in the current week.

At No. 4, Viacom18's Colors has also seen a drop in its ratings by 14 points. The channel has registered 200 GRPs against 214 GRPs of Week 11. The channel share has dropped significantly from 15.7 per cent to 14.3 per cent in the current week.

For the records, last week, Sony, Zee TV and Colors stood within a range of four GRPs (218 GRPs, 217 GRPs and 214 GRPs, respectively).

Sony's sibling channel SAB has, however, strengthened its position with an increase in its ratings from 129 GRPs to 132 GRPs in the current week ended March 24. Its channel share, too, has risen from 9.4 per cent to 9.5 per cent in the current week.

The channel replaced Life Ok at the sixth position in the GEC list. DD1's relative channel share stands at 6.2 per cent, up from 4.3 per cent in the previous week (Week 11).

STAR's Life Ok has been displaced from its consistent sixth position. The channel has climbed down to No. 7 with 74 GRPs, down from last week's 84 GRPs, while its channel share stands at 5.3 per cent (6.1 per cent in the last week).

Imagine TV is at No. 8 with a share of 4.4 per cent, as compared to 4.6 per cent in the previous week; it has garnered 62 GRPs as opposed to 63 GRPs in Week 11.

STAR Utsav is at No. 9 with 3.3 per cent share, as compared to 3.4 per cent in Week 11, while its GRPs, too, have fallen from 47 to 46 this week.

Sahara One is at No. 10, with a 3.1 per cent channel share, as compared to 3.2 per cent in the previous week. Its GRP remain constant at 43 in Week 12.

Zee Smile follows next with a constant rating of 7 GRPs, and 0.5 per cent channel share.

Star Parivaar Awards 2012/03 tops the GEC programming list in Week 12. The one and a half hour programme has gathered 6.41 TVRs. Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum follows with 5.64 TVRs.

Sony's thriller show Crime Patrol has clocked a TVR of 4.95. Next in the list is the India-Pakistan cricket match of the Asia Cup, which was telecast on DD1, with 4.72 TVRs.

Star Plus' shows, Saathiya Saath Nibhana and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai take the fifth and sixth positions in the list with TVRs of 4.43 and 4.27, respectively. Sony's CID follows next with 4.2 TVRs.

Next in the list are Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (Star Plus), Pavitra Rishta (Zee TV) and Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (Star Plus) with 4.16 TVRs, 4.07 TVRs and 3.91 TVRs, respectively.
