Indroneel Dhar, executive creative director, Dentsu Marcom, Delhi, has called it a day. & #BANNER1 & # After having spent a year and some months, and putting the creative team together at the Delhi office, Dhar feels that it's time to move in a new direction.
Dhar said that he was evaluating some proposals. At the moment, however, he is keen on a sabbatical and Sunny Side Up, his own agency that he set up in 2002.
Sunny Side Up is a Delhi-based outfit offering creative services. It has seven members and clients such as Ericsson, Old World Hospitality and Habitat World. In fact, the office has a representation in London, with a small team working on accounts such as the Chor Bazaar restaurant and tea café, Chai Pani.
Because Dhar had been working at Dentsu Marcom, he was unable to give time to his start-up. However, his team members continued working at these projects.
Now that Dhar has bid adieu to Dentsu Marcom, he has some special plans for Sunny Side Up. Prime among them is promoting it as a creative outsourcing destination. In that connection, Dhar is on the look out for an overseas partnership or association.
As Dhar talks about his departure, words such as 'fast-paced' and 'aggressive growth' keep popping up in connection to his stint at Dentsu Marcom. That is because his stay, though not very long, was like a rollercoaster ride.
"I have had a great time working at Dentsu Marcom. The whole team would just keep working 'round the clock. Let me say that it was a fast-paced-agency-stint."
The first account that Dhar worked on at Dentsu was Honda, which has now moved to Contract Advertising. (http://www.agencyfaqs.com/news/stories/2005/04/05/11159.html). Besides Honda, Dhar has worked on all of Dentsu Marcom's brands that include Sony Ericsson, HDFC and Vatika Group.
Dhar's earlier assignments include stints at Lowe, JWT and Everest. At Lowe, where Dhar had spent maximum time - 10 years - he had worked on brands such as Maruti and Parker Pens. His stints at JWT and Everest were of one and three years, respectively. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
