AAAI to host creative fest in Goa

AAAI has decided to host a two-day awards festival in Goa in April, which will be similar to the Cannes Festival

The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), the collective body of all leading advertising agencies, will soon host a two-day awards festival in Goa. This will be similar to the Cannes Film Festival.

The two-day advertising festival will be held on April 28 and 29 this year. Till now, the AAAI Creative Awards show was a one-evening event.

The AAAI Creative Awards Festival will showcase the best ads from all over India. This year, over 3,000 entries are expected from AAAI members as well as non-members. All the creative work entered for the show will be on display and the TVCs that are submitted will be screened. Two half-day seminars will be organised on the creative aspects of advertising, and it is believed that two globally renowned creative directors will lead the discussions.

The location for the event is the seashore in Goa, at a site called the Ad Village.

AAAI president Srinivasan Swamy says, “We are expecting around 800 delegates to attend the festival from advertising, media and government. We have made special arrangements to attract professionals who are less than 30 years of age so that they can learn from the festival and enjoy themselves at the same time. Management students can also benefit from this special offer.”

Arvind Sharma, chairman, awards committee, AAAI, says, “This festival has been conceptualised by our creative community. This will truly be an awards programme where the judging will be fair and transparent and the jury will be drawn from the creative fraternity itself.”

The awards festival this year will be partnered by the STAR Network and ‘Hindustan Times’.
