GBN appoints Ashutosh managing editor, Channel 7

Ashutosh, the well-known face of the Hindi news channel, Aaj Tak, is all set to be the managing editor of Channel 7. The announcement comes in the wake of the tie-up between GBN and Jagran. According to an official communique, this is a step towards strengthening the editorial team.

Ashutosh says in an official statement, “The opportunity to work with media pros like Rajdeep Sardesai is wonderful. I am really excited about working with a new team.”

Rajdeep Sardesai, editor-in-chief, CNN-IBN, says in an official communique, “Ashutosh is a good journalist. The new team strengthening plans will definitely make the channel a market driver.”

He adds, “CNN-IBN is what it is because of these very journalistic qualities. The market is big and crowded, but we have been able to carve our niche.”

Ashutosh, the ex-anchor and executive producer of Aaj Tak, has been associated with the brand since October 1995. He comes with experience of 15 years in various media organisations such as ‘Saptahik Hindustan’ and ‘Business India’. He was the first non-English TV journalist from India to bag the Hammarskjöld Memorial UN Scholarship for Young Journalists in 1997.
