Indian agencies make it to London International Awards finalists

O&M has bagged 19 nominations, JWT has seven, Grey Worldwide has three and Rediffusion DY&R, one

Four agencies from India have been short-listed for the 21st Annual London International Awards. These agencies are O&M, JWT, Grey Worldwide and Rediffusion DY&R.

O&M has got a total of 19 short-listed entries, 15 in the Print category and four in the Poster and Outdoor category. Among these entries are O&M’s work for Fevicol Adhesive in the Print category, titled ‘Shadow Play’ (Consumer Campaign), and in the Poster and Outdoor Campaign category. Its work for ‘Hindustan Times’, ‘Plant More Trees’, has got two nominations in the Print category (Public Service) and one campaign nomination in the Poster and Outdoor category.

O&M’s other short-listed entries in the Print category include its work for Mattel Hot Wheels, which has got two nominations, ‘Lift’ as a Single (Recreation Equipment) and as a Campaign (Consumer Campaign); IAPA ‘Adoption’ with four Single nominations (Public Service); Getty Images’ ‘1000 Pictures’, as a Single (Business to Business); Apsara Pencil Sharpeners, which has two nominations for ‘The Art of Sharpening’ (Home Products); and Perfetti Van Melle, which has three nominations for ‘Perfetti Corporate’ (Corporate).

The other two short-listed entries from O&M in the Poster and Outdoor category are MTDC Deccan Odyssey’s ‘MTDC Legend’ (Poster Campaign Indoor) and WWF’s ‘Tags’ (Posters Indoor).

JWT has seven finalists. Six of these are for Levi’s Slim Jeans in the Print category, including one campaign and five single ads (Consumer Durables). The seventh entry is for Apollo Tyres with a single ad in the Print category (Automotive).

Grey Worldwide has three finalists, all for its work for Childcare India. Two nominations are in the Print category, one for ‘Beggar Boy’ (Spectacular Single) and the other for ‘Beggar Boy 1, 2 & 3’ (Spectacular Campaign). The third nomination is in the Poster and Outdoor category, again for ‘Beggar Boy 1, 2 & 3’.

Rediffusion DY&R has landed itself with one finalist for its Midland Bookshop campaign in the Poster and Outdoor category.

The results for the London International Awards 2006 will be announced on November 6 during a ceremony in London. For the record, these awards are judged by a distinguished jury panel, comprising the most talented and recognised professionals from the world over. The awards look to honour creative excellence in advertising, design and integrated media.
