started in late 2006, when Carat Media Services was assigned to handle media duties for ABN AMRO Asset Management Fund. Later, the media duties for the company's retail brokerage division also came to Carat.
A few months later, the entire ABN AMRO portfolio has been aligned with Carat Media Services. Prior to this, the business was handled by Madison in India.
The win for Carat India coincides with wins in the Asia Pacific and West Asia. ABN AMRO had called for a pitch in these regions, and those businesses have also now been awarded to Carat Media. In the Asia Pacific region, the business was earlier handled by Doremus, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Omnicom Group.
In India, the company's media spends will go up to Rs 25 crore, but at the APAC level, the company plans to spend around $16 million.
The company is looking to exploit all media opportunities, both traditional and emerging. It plans to explore print, television, digital media and outdoor. Events are also on the cards.
