Pepper 2007 to spread across South India

The Pepper festival awards the advertising fraternity based in South India

While April will keep the ad fraternity busy at the Goafest, May has in store a different sort of excitement for the advertising fraternity in the South. The Advertising Club Cochin’s own awards ceremony, the Pepper 2007 Creative Awards will be held on May 11 at the Bolghatty Palace in Kochi. The festival is open to agencies across South India, namely in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The panel of jury for these awards comprise names such as Josy Paul, national creative director, JWT; Prathap Suthan, national creative director, Grey Worldwide; Raj Nair, associative vice-president, creative, Contract Advertising; and Ramesh Narayan, chief executive officer, Canco Advertising.

According to PK Natesh, committee member, Cochin Ad Club, “We have been conducting this festival since the last 12 years and it was confined to Kerala. This year, it has gone beyond Kerala. We are expecting close to 1,000 entries.”

The awards are being given in categories such as multi-media, retail, recruitment, television, radio, print, outdoor and photography.
