and Entertainment's Hindi movie channel, Filmy, has a new business head. Shailesh Kapoor, who was head, content and marketing, for the channel when it was first launched will now be the business head, replacing Ashutosh, who resigned last week.
Kapoor has more than eight years of experience in the marketing field. He started his career with Sony Entertainment Television in 1999 as head of content and marketing.
He has previously worked with indya.com and Zee Cinema. Kapoor held the position of head of marketing with Zoom before joining Filmy. He belongs to the 1997 batch of IIT Delhi and the 1999 batch of IIM Calcutta.
Kapoor wants to focus on getting a sizeable share of ad revenue for Filmy and also to cash in on the brand in terms of higher viewership ratings. He aims to get box office hits showcased on Filmy at the earliest.
Kapoor will report to Seemanto Roy, head, Sahara One Media and Entertainment.
The channel soon plans to launch three to four new shows in the comedy, reality, game show and fiction genres, reveals the newly appointed business head.
