NP Sathyamurthy steps in at Insight as president

Sathya will step into his new role early in November. He will report to Lynn D’Souza, director, Lintas Media Group

Last week, agencyfaqs! had reported that NP Sathyamurthy, aka Sathya, was putting in his papers at Carat Media. Sathya’s next destination is Insight, a Lintas Media Group agency, where he will join as president.

Sathya will step into his new role early in November. He will report to Lynn D’Souza, director, Lintas Media Group.

Sathya has served at Carat for two years. He joined as chief planning officer in 2005. In 2006, the agency underwent a restructuring, and Sathya was elevated to executive director and put in charge of North and East operations and new projects.

Prior to his stint at Carat, he was director-general, Media Research Users Council (MRUC), for three years. He was into media research and responsible for syndicated research products such as the Indian Readership Survey (IRS), Indian Listenership Track (ILT), and the new Consumer Classification System.

Sathya has been associated with brands for two decades in one capacity or another. He has spent 14 years in the media planning industry with agencies such as Mudra, O&M and Euro RSCG. He has also worked with Heinz, a US-based food company, in various roles in sales, marketing and brand management.

During his career, Sathya has worked on Hindustan Unilever, Philips, Microsoft, Intel, Nokia, Gillette, American Express, Castrol, Prudential ICICI, HDFC, Asian Paints, Castrol, Vimal, Rasna and Dhara.

For the record, Lintas India, which took off as a single advertising agency, has now spread its tentacles into a variety of business offerings. Apart from Insight, the other media agencies in the group include Initiative, Interactions, Intellect and Media Futures.
