SAB appoints Uditanshu Mehta as programing head

In his current role, Mehta will focus on developing a new and exciting programming mix for the channel. He brings with him over 12 years of experience in the television industry

Sony Entertainment Television’s (SET’s) second general entertainment channel targeting Indian youth, SAB, has announced the appointment of Uditanshu Mehta as its programming head. Mehta will focus on developing a new and exciting programming mix for the channel. He brings with him over 12 years of experience in the television industry.

Mehta will replace Priya Mishra who joined V&S Broadcasting a few months back. Announcing the appointment, Anooj Kapoor, business head, SAB, says, “Uditanshu brings on board over a decade of experience in television content creation. He has a unique creative versatility and has simultaneously handled comedies, soaps, youth shows as well as children’s shows. Uditanshu has always excelled in out of the box thinking and will be a tremendous asset to SAB’s continued quest for fresh and innovative programming.”

Mehta says, “I am really looking forward to the challenge of creating shows for the youth of our country. The youth space is the fastest growing market in TV today, and SAB, with a fantastic team and the backing of SET, is an ideal platform to reach out to the youth.”

Mehta started his career as a freelancer for fiction and non-fiction shows. Later, he moved to Miditech as a producer and then joined UTV as assistant vice-president, responsible for developing and executing all types of shows on air for various clients.
